I’ll bring the crazy
only a bestie puts up with my crazyMy why
They saved my son Ryan’s life. They are my hero’s. When Ryan was born he wasn’t breathing. The amazing doctors in Port Lincoln kept resuscitating Ryan until the MedSTAR emergency team arrived on the RFDS and stabilised Ryan enough to fly him to Adelaide again on the RFDS. When we landed they took him in a seperate ambulance and I didn’t see him again until the next day. He was born at 5.59am. I was on a different floor to my son. I was later told by another mum whose child was also in the NICU that it was scary watching them wheel in my son with so many doctors surrounding him and alarms going off. She prayed for him. Ryan spent the next 2 weeks in the Neonatal Unit at Flinders Medical Center. They cooled his body (therapeutic Hypothermia) to protect the brain and organs. I couldn’t hold my newborn or feed him for several days. Ryan is a fighter though and he has come out the other side as a beautiful, strong, kind boy. My miracle. And I owe it all to the ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE who came and got my son and took him to a place where they had the facilities to save him, nurture him, and gave him back to me alive. So I am walking for them this month. Joining in on the Oceans to Outback fundraiser. Raising money for this important organisation that literally saves lives! That help people in remote locations that don’t have the services that major cities have. These amazing people are real heroes! Truely! So if you feel you can, and only if you’re able to please donate. $1 or $10 or more. Or join me and others in my family on this journey by walking with us. Talking about the RFDS and sharing your story! A picture of my son in the Neonatal Unit at Flinders to last week at the QLD Basketball State Championships. This journey made possible because of the RFDS helping my son 11 years ago.Day 2

This October I’ll be Walking 96km to raise much needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Working in aged care in a small country community I see the importance of the incredible service that the flying doctors gives. Often seeing my clients or loved ones needing the service at some point in life. We're fundraising for the royal flying doctor service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away. This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes! Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to our challenge today!Thank you to our supporters
