Bloody Amazing!!
31 days. $26 737 raised! 1706 kilometres achieved!It's a wonderful wrap
Day 31 and the challenge is almost over. It's been fun collaborating with my E-WA teammates, as we gratefully engaged wth our sponsors to achieve for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.Survive and thrive!
So everyone is gearing up for Halloween 🎃 but the really scary thought is how would you survive if you got a snakebite miles from anywhere and the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia wasn’t there. That’s why team E-WA Rotary has been walking all month to raise funds to keep the Flying Doctor flying. If you’re planning to be out gathering lollies from your neighbours tomorrow, take a moment to chip in for those who have a really long driveway. Two days to go
Almost at my stretch kms goal! Just need a few more $$ to hit that target too. Thanks for support, KateSouth beach
Beach walk to preserve that ‘Just been to the hairdresser yesterday’ feeling while my wing women have a swim. I’ll be back in the water next Sunday even though the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia challenge will be complete. There’s still time to support the challenge before October ends.Awesome afternoon
Great pub walk this afternoon with the Esperance crew! Lots of cash raised and donations via the QR code!A beautiful day to fundraise
An early start and a fast walk on a beautiful day in Perth. I love the way my awesome sponsors are buying into the compelling story of the Royal Flying Doctor.Achievement unlocked
I’ve met my activity goal and my fundraising goal and I’m still going! Thanks everyone for your support.Double walk
I look a lap around UWA campus today with my colleagues and also followed the kids around the oval at athletics. More than 10,000 steps all up today but I just counted the main walking periods. Support RFDS today! Cheers KateYay- $1000 in the kitty
Thanks all for your support so far! Now if I could just go a little further and beat my darling husband Paul in the fundraising!!Saturday in cooby
different day different neighborhood!Windy!!!
colder than it looks outsideWalking for alison
Today I walked for my fun friend Alison (Lockwood) Vance. Alison is a member of E-WA Rotary and a nurse in Bruce Rock. Bruce Rock has a small hospital but they can't cope with everything. Alison often delivers critically injured or ill patients to the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia plane. If you support Alison and the RFDS community, please donate and mention Alison in the comments as your inspiration! PS I hit 50% of my walking goal for the month today. Cheers KateThe lucky country
Australia has the most beautiful landscapes but the distances are vast. We can only enjoy it safely when the RFDS is there for when luck runs out!Day 8
mixing it up in West Beach this arvo!Day 7
week 1, done and dusted!Day 6!
had to stop for a refreshment 😂Day 5!
dragged the other half out 🤣Rainy day didn’t stop me today!
So what is the Rotary E-Club of Western Australia (also known as E-WA Rotary) and why are we raising funds for Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia? E-WA Rotary is one of the member clubs of global humanitarian and volunteer organisation Rotary International. For more than 100 years, Rotary has been delivering projects to support health, education, environment and more, via the grassroots effort of volunteers. E-WA Rotary is a modern Rotary club that organises online, but turns up in person when it matters. People choose our way of being part of Rotary for lots of reasons - caring commitments, regional isolation, frequent travel, flexibility, convenience. It's a format that helps us make a greater difference. We chose to support the RFDS Oceans to Outback challenge this month because here in WA, we are closely connected to regional communities. E-WA Rotary has members in Kununurra, Newman, Bruce Rock, Kalgoorlie, Margaret River, Esperance and more. Many of our members based in Perth have country upbringing or connections like me. If you want to keep our RFDS flying, please donate. And ask us how you can find a Rotary club that suits you!Gorgeous evening on the foreshore
no wind this evening on the Esperance Foreshore 🙌Fitright
The weather was against us today, but I rarely miss my FitRight exercise class, and there are clever calculators that can convert exercise effort to distance! I’m reminded of how incredible the RFDS pilots are, who often have to take off and land in really challenging circumstances. They need the best training and equipment to do their job, so please donate now!Day 2
Recovering from surgery so just managed a walk around the ward.Day 2
Squeezed in a quickie before the weather hits! 3.3kmsBack out there!
I’m a regular walker but I went into hibernation mode in winter and this RFDS challenge has been the best motivation to get back out there! Good for my health and for the people in regional Australia the fundraiser will help.Started!
first walk, a quick after work walk to the beach!Day 1
5.6km today. Such a perfect day. We're fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to our challenge today!
Thank you to our supporters
