Another Update
Our last goal - the one for $30,000 has been smashed and we are now in the top three of the RFDS' all-time best fundraisers. We have been riding our hearts out, knocking as many kilometers as we can in one go, sometimes those being rides of 20km+. Thanks again to everyone who has donated anything, it is really appreciated. We still have 7 days left of October, and a few kilometers that we need to do, but we are going to do them as fast as we can. We aren't going to update our donation target, because we are absolutely stoked with what we have got, but that doesn't mean you can't donate. We are happy to go to whatever sum of money we can.Another Update
We haven't posted in a while, but in that time we have been riding as much as we can. Sophie has ridden from the oval to her school in the morning, Chris has been going down all sorts of Mountain biking trails and Pablo has been riding fro home to school everyday. We have all been adding kilometres on the weekend doing some bigger rides. Pablo added 52km this weekend, Chris adding about 17 and Sophie doing about 3km. Thanks for donating to our page. Thanks again to everyone who has donated anything to help us reach our goal. We reached $6,000 in quick succession to our previous $5,000 goal. We are doing so great and reached 2nd on the leaderboards for the whole competition. It isn't even October, so we can't start riding yet, but as soon as the first comes around, we will begin to chase down our 700km goal. Thanks to everyone, and let's go to $7,000. Thank you to everyone who has managed to get us to our first goal. we reached our first goal of $2,000 within the first 24 hours. The donations kept on coming and we passed $3,000 not long after. It has been so great to see how much people want the RFDS to continue flying. Thank you to everyone who donated, even if it was just a coin they found lying at the bottom of their pocket. Some people went to the extent of donating their pocket money so that the RFDS can keep flying. Without your help, the RFDS may not have continued to fly and provide the services that they did with our Dad. Hi everyone,
We wanted to share something deeply personal with you. Recently, our family faced a crisis when our dad, Alex Sleeman, needed urgent medical attention and was flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) from our home to Perth. The care and support we received were nothing short of miraculous and it made us realise just how crucial their services are—not just for those in remote areas, but for anyone traveling or with loved ones in regional WA.
The RFDS is there for us all, whether we live in a bustling city or a quiet town. For many in rural areas, the nearest hospital could be an eight-hour drive away. The RFDS bridges this gap, providing emergency care and medical support when it's needed most.
To honour the incredible work they do and to ensure they can continue to help families like ours, we are taking part in the Oceans to Outback Fitness Challenge this October. Our goal is to raise $4,000 of much needed funds and awareness for the RFDS, and every bit of support can make a huge difference.
The RFDS helps over 330,000 Australians every year, offering 24/7 emergency care and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes! By contributing to this cause, you’re helping to keep their life-saving flights in the air and ensuring that urgent medical care is always within reach.
