Walk for Olbie - Supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service
On
May 8th, Nanna and Olbie embarked on their round Australia trip. On May 17th,
in Cloncurry, North Qld, Olbie suffered a heart attack. Preliminary treatment
was initiated, and he was then flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS)
to Townsville, where he underwent open heart surgery on May 24th. Nanna drove
the 780 kms with the van in tow to be by Olbie's side.
In
October, our family will be walking a collective 780 kms to raise $780 for the
RFDS. Without their service, our beloved Olbie wouldn’t be here with us today.
Every
year, the RFDS reaches more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency
retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes,
and Olbie was fortunate enough to be one of them. We are incredibly grateful
for this service and blessed to have Olbie with us today.
Together,
we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work.
Please donate to our challenge today!
