My Journey of Recovery with the Help of the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Two years ago, during a camping trip with friends, I experienced a life-changing accident that left me with multiple oblique fractures in both my tibia and fibula. I found myself floating in a river, unable to move, and soon after realized the extent of my injuries. With both legs severely broken, I was left wheelchair-bound and unable to walk for several months.
In the aftermath, I required urgent surgery on both legs to regain my ability to walk. That’s where the incredible team at the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) stepped in. They transported me from South Hedland Medical Centre to Royal Perth Hospital for the emergency operation and rehabilitation that ultimately restored my mobility. Without their swift intervention and care, I may have never regained the full use of my legs.
The RFDS made a critical difference in my life, and I am forever grateful. Now, I want to give back to the organization that gave me so much. Please join me in supporting the RFDS, whose life-saving work ensures that people in remote and regional areas receive the care they need when it matters most.
