I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Hey team so here’s the dealio. I loathe running, but what I do love is breaking barriers, pushing myself to the limits and conversations around mental health.

On that note, I have decided to push my current capabilities by participating in Oceans to Outback and run 2k every day in October to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

My aim is to raise $800

My reason for this is as someone who has previously struggled with mental health, I understand just how important it is to have someone safe, understanding and patient on the other side to guide you through it and keep both you and themselves safe.

If you have ever experienced a panic attack, bipolar episode, been at deep depths of depression or the likes, you know how scary this can be to feel so out of control of yourself. Which is why it is so important to have people understand just what is going on chemically and psychologically to help you navigate it safely without activating you further into fight or flight.

You can support my journey by sharing, donating, cheering me on or even by joining me! You can set your own distance, and whether you’d like to run, walk or cycle.

October is also mental health awareness month. So let’s do this! We can bring awareness to mental health while also supporting a vital service that is needed by someone in remote and rural Australia every 2 minutes.

I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.

This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!
