I'm fundraising for the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Living and working in country WA Kieran and I have seen first hand how important the RFDS is to rural communities.
As a nurse I see every day how isolated and far from tertiary health services we are and the impact of that, I work with the RFDS to get patients to tertiary care and see how crucial and important they are.
So this October Kieran, Fletch and I are taking on a month-long fitness challenge, running 250km between us to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. If you can please donate, we appreciate all donations!
So far this year
I’ve helped provide...
7
Laryngoscopes – used to assist in intubating and ventilating a patient.
5
Life-saving medical chests for a remote, rural or regional community.
4
Defibrillator Pads – used with a machine to monitor a patient’s cardiac health.
