This October, we're taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, we hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

Laura is one of these people. Laura is a nursing student and only 5 months after her 21st birthday, 6 months before she was due to graduate, in January 2023 she had a near fatal car crash that without the RFDS she would not have survived. Laura was flown from a remote town in WA 4 hours from WAs only head trauma hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, for life saving treatment that would not have been possible without the RFDS. Laura has had to learn how to walk again as part of her recovery from a stroke which was a result of her initial injuries, but despite this she will be participating in the challenge herself again this year!
